Catbells Camping Barn Redevelopment part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
Catbells Camping Barn is situated at Low Skelgill Farm in the quiet Newlands Valley in the Lake District.
A converted milking parlour on an historic Lakeland hill farm, the camping barn provides rustic and peaceful accommodation with wonderful views of the surrounding fells.
The barn sleeps up to 6 people and makes a great venue for families. At the present time we will only take bookings from single households.
Heated by a wood-burning stove, there is sleeping accommodation on the mezzanine floor and downstairs on the sleeping platform. We provide the mattresses and bedding.
An electric hob, microwave, and kettle are provided in the cooking area, and there is a sink for washing up.
The bathroom, attached to the barn, comprises a newly fitted shower, toilet and washbasin.
Outside, there are picnic benches and a barbeque, with ever changing views of the Newlands Fells and Catbells, with Bassenthwaite Lake in the distance.
There are many great walks straight from the door, once you are here there is no need to drive. There is a 16th century Inn within walking distance, serving delicious home cooked food. Keswick is a short drive away or an hours’ walk if you prefer to leave the car behind. It is also possible to take the launch on nearby Derwentwater.
Sorry, no pets.
